Our Lady of the Lake Music Ministry

“Sing to the Lord a new song, For he has done marvelous deeds.” - Psalm 98

Music is a fun and important ministry of any church, and there are many opportunities for people to add their talents to enhance our liturgies. In addition to our choirs we encourage and train cantors and we welcome accomplished instrumentalists of all ages. New members are invited at all times throughout the year. Our music program is under the direction of Krzysztof Kowalewski.

Children's Choir - Thursday 2:45-3:30 PM (Church)
Adult Choir - Tuesday 7:30-9 PM (Church)
Contemporary Choir - Saturday 4:30-5:30 PM (St. Cecilia' Room)

The Children's Choir
Students from grades 3 through 8 are welcome to join this group. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about our music and liturgy. Rehearsals are on Thursday afternoons from 2:45 to 3:30 PM. This choir provides the music for the Sunday 9:00 a.m. Mass.

The Traditional Choir
The Traditional Choir provides the music for the 10:30 am, Mass as well as special liturgies throughout the year. This choir is known for its excellent and diverse repertoire, and is open to any adult or high school student interested in a challenging, yet satisfying choral singing experience. This choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm in the Church.

The Contemporary Ensemble
The Contemporary Ensemble provides music for the Saturday 5:30 p.m. Liturgy and other special events throughout the year. Rehearsals are held on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 pm at St. Cecilia's Room.

The role of Cantor is very important to our Roman Catholic liturgy. Cantors are present to help lead congregational singing and chant the responsorial Psalm and other parts of the Mass as needed. The responsibility of leading the parish in sung prayer is very great, but rehearsal time is very flexible. We are always searching for new cantors. Please contact the Director of Music for more information.

Instrumentalists add a festive flourish to Sunday and seasonal liturgies. Anyone interested in the possibility of sharing their talents is welcome to contact the Director of Music. New members for any of these choirs are always being accepted. Please contact the Director of Music for more information.
