Christ in Christmas

This event usually takes place on the first Saturday of December, from 3-5 PM in McKenna Hall. Children will be guided into “building a bear” by our Pope John students and our Our Lady of the Lake Confirmation candidates. The finished stuffed bear and accompanying letter will be blessed and donated to two local shelters (Samaritan Inn in Franklin, and Interfaith Council in Morristown). The children will enjoy an afternoon of readings with religious significance such as the Story of the 1st Christmas. The children will be entertained by excerpts from the play with teen actors from Dickens’s A Christmas Carol, and of course the singing of Christmas carols. Music for this event will be provided by the piano, flute, harp, and the guitar. The afternoon will close with all the children singing “Joy to the World” as Santa enters the room. The children will help Santa pack the bears and letters into his sack to be delivered to the children in the shelters.
