The Word of God is, “strength for our faith, good for the soul, and a pure and lasting font of spiritual life” (Dei Verbum, 21). As Catholic Christians we are called to immerse ourselves in the gift of God’s divine Word. The Catechism strongly exhorts that we must break open the word through frequent readings and diligent study (CCC 133). It is through this delving into the scripture that we come to know, serve and love God better, as our faith is nourished and strengthened.
