The Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation) is one of the two sacraments of healing (with the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick being the other). The celebration of this sacrament is truly healing because it offers an incredible experience of God’s mercy and forgiveness. We are given the opportunity to start over so we can repair our souls, our hearts, and our consciences.
Penance is offered each Saturday from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Additional hours are added during Lent on Mondays from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Communal Penance Services are seasonal. Those who have been away from the Church and are returning and those who have serious sin are obliged to receive this sacrament before they receive Holy Communion.
